GoTyme Bank has officially rolled out Garmin Pay in the Philippines, giving customers a new way to make fast and secure contactless payments directly from their Garmin smartwatches.

The latest feature allows GoTyme Bank Visa Debit Card holders to link their cards to compatible Garmin devices, making it possible to pay for purchases with just a tap of their wrist. Whether grabbing coffee after a workout, buying groceries, or shopping on the go, users can now leave their wallets and phones behind while still enjoying a seamless payment experience.

The launch comes as contactless payments continue to gain popularity across the country, with more merchants adopting tap-to-pay technology in malls, restaurants, convenience stores, and retail shops.

Garmin Pay uses near-field communication (NFC) technology to securely process transactions. Instead of sharing actual card details during purchases, the system uses encrypted payment information, adding an extra layer of protection for users.

Setting up the feature is straightforward. Customers simply need to connect their compatible Garmin smartwatch to the Garmin Connect app, access the Garmin Pay wallet section, and add their GoTyme Bank Visa Debit Card. Once verified, the smartwatch can be used for payments anywhere Visa contactless transactions are accepted.

Beyond convenience, GoTyme customers can continue earning Go Rewards points on eligible purchases made through Garmin Pay, allowing them to enjoy the same benefits while using wearable payment technology.

The feature is also expected to appeal to fitness enthusiasts, frequent travelers, and commuters who prefer a more convenient way to pay without carrying extra items during their daily activities.

Garmin Pay can be used both locally and internationally at merchants that support Visa contactless payments, making it a practical option for Filipinos who travel abroad.

According to GoTyme Bank, no additional fees will be charged for using Garmin Pay. Customers who replace or renew their debit cards may simply update their card information within the Garmin Pay wallet to continue using the service.

With the launch, GoTyme Bank continues to expand its digital banking ecosystem, offering customers more flexible and innovative payment options as wearable technology becomes increasingly popular worldwide.
