Singapore — A wave of relief and renewed hope surrounds the Gutierrez family as Day 8 of their medical journey in Singapore brings encouraging news about the condition of veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez.
The update was shared in a social media post by Ruffa Gutierrez, who has been keeping the public informed about her father’s health while he undergoes treatment abroad.
According to Dr. Prem Pillay of the Neuro Spine & Pain Center at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Eddie’s spine infection has shown significant improvement. His nerves are no longer as compressed, he has started eating again, and the family is now hopeful that he will soon be able to walk.
Ruffa’s post reflected a turning point after days marked by anxiety, exhaustion, and constant prayer.
“Everything involving Dad’s spine infection has greatly improved,” the family shared, noting that the positive development has lifted their spirits after what they described as many sleepless nights and tears.
With only one remaining visit to his urologist, the family said they are finally preparing for their long-awaited return to Manila, a moment they have been eagerly anticipating.
Beyond the medical progress, Ruffa’s message also served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude to friends, loved ones, and even strangers who offered prayers and support throughout the ordeal.
“So many sleepless nights, so many tears…but also so much love.”
The Gutierrez family emphasized how deeply they were touched by the outpouring of concern, sharing that every prayer and message helped them stay strong during the most challenging moments.
They ended the post with words of encouragement for others who may be facing difficulties of their own, reminding everyone to hold on to their faith and remain hopeful.
