Singer and TV personality Ice Seguerra turned emotional after marking a new milestone in his career — his first day directing for the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga!.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ice admitted that he had been struggling to sleep in the days leading up to the job because of nervousness and excitement over the new challenge.
“It’s my first day on the job!!!
I had trouble sleeping the past few days dahil sa kakaisip. While I’m used to directing concerts, live TV is a totally different animal. I have more to learn but I think today was a good day.”
Ice also thanked the people who helped and guided him during the transition, including veteran television personalities and members of the production team.
“I want to thank Ate Jeny for the trust na kaya kong gawin Ito. Tita Poochie, mula 3 years old ako, you’ve been guiding me at hanggang ngayon, ikaw pa rin ang gabay ko sa bagong journey na Ito. To my controlmates, especially our CamTD Paul, thank you for making it easy for me.”
He also gave a special message to his wife, Liza Diño, for her constant support and encouragement throughout the journey.
“Sa aking mahal, Liza, for the encouragement and for always believing in me.”
Toward the end of his post, Ice became emotional as he remembered his late mother, sharing how she had long hoped for this moment to happen.
“And to my mama, Caridad, ilang beses kang nag manifest noong nabubuhay ka pa. Eto na, mama! Nagkatotoo na!
Labyu, Eat Bulaga!!!”
Fans and fellow celebrities quickly flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages, celebrating Ice’s newest achievement behind the scenes of one of Philippine television’s most iconic shows.
