A fiery political video shared online by the camp of Senator Imee Marcos is stirring fresh controversy after linking the recent Senate leadership shake-up to alleged moves to amend the 1987 Constitution and influence the country’s political future ahead of 2028.

In the nearly 10-minute video uploaded on Facebook, several senators and political figures questioned the motives behind the leadership changes in the Senate, while also pushing back against claims that the reorganization was connected to the impeachment issue involving Vice President Sara Duterte.

The video opened with dramatic questions surrounding the Senate shake-up, alleged political pressure, and supposed demolition jobs against lawmakers perceived to be aligned with the Duterte camp.

At one point, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano was shown moving to declare all Senate positions vacant, while then Senate President Vicente Sotto III announced the approval of the motion.

The video also featured Senator Rodante Marcoleta dismissing claims that the Senate leadership changes were tied to impeachment politics.

“Actually 9 lang ang kailangan para madismiss. Yes, and 12 kami. So it's more than the required votes. But that's not the point,” Marcoleta said in the video.

The upload further alleged that a meeting supposedly took place at Solaire Resort involving Sotto, Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez, and other personalities to discuss Charter change through a Constituent Assembly or “Con-Ass.”

According to the narration, proposals allegedly discussed included extending the terms of lawmakers, changing the election process for senators into a regional system, and even revisiting the age requirement for presidential candidates.

The video also referenced remarks by Sotto suggesting openness to lowering the minimum age for presidential candidates to 35 years old — a comment that some online users linked to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. Sotto, however, denied that the proposal was specifically intended for his nephew.

The political commentary escalated further as the video accused some government officials, business groups, troll farms, and parts of the mainstream media of working together to protect political interests and silence critics.

Senator Imee Marcos also appeared in the video warning about alleged efforts to stop investigations into controversial flood control projects and linking future national budgets to plans for constitutional amendments.

“Gusto nila tigilan na ang flood control investigations kasi mabigat na yung ebidensya,” she said.

The video ended with claims that the Senate battle reflects a larger fight over the Constitution, political power, and the direction of Philippine democracy.

As of writing, several personalities mentioned in the video have yet to issue detailed responses regarding the allegations raised.
