Philippine Basketball Association officially welcomed Jayson Castro into its prestigious 10,000-point club on Saturday, marking another milestone in the veteran guard’s decorated career.

The longtime TNT Tropang 5G star received a special plaque during halftime of TNT’s knockout game against the NLEX Road Warriors at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Castro reached the historic scoring mark earlier in TNT’s Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal series against NLEX, becoming just the 18th player overall — and 17th local player — in PBA history to score 10,000 career points.

At 39 years old, the player known as “The Blur” also became one of the oldest players to achieve the feat, joining legends like Robert Jaworski Sr. and Arwind Santos on the short list.

According to league statistics, Castro is only the fourth player in the last 25 years to enter the exclusive club. He also became one of the few non-MVP players to reach the milestone, alongside PBA greats Francis Arnaiz, Nelson Asaytono, Jerry Codinera, and TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa.

The celebration became even sweeter for the Pampanga native as TNT defeated NLEX in the series to advance to the semifinals despite entering the playoffs as the eighth seed.
