Senator Jinggoy Estrada is set to be detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas following the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by the Sandiganbayan.

The information was confirmed by the Clerk of Court of the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division, which identified the detention facility where the senator will be committed once the warrant is served.

Estrada is facing graft and plunder charges, with the latter being a non-bailable offense. The arrest order was issued by the anti-graft court as part of the ongoing legal proceedings against the lawmaker.

The development comes amid growing public attention on the case, particularly after reports surfaced that Estrada intended to voluntarily surrender to authorities.

Further details regarding his detention and the next steps in the court proceedings are expected to be released in the coming days as the case moves forward.
