Mangusin's Security Team, Expired Gun Under Investigation
FILE
Authorities are intensifying their probe into controversial vlogger Norman Mangusin, also known as Francis Leo Marcos, over potential illegal activities involving his personal security team and firearms.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) Civil Security Group confirmed that all nine of Mangusin’s security escorts are not licensed security practitioners, suggesting they may have been performing security duties illegally.
In addition, a Glock pistol registered under the name “Francis Leo Antonio Marcos” has an expired license since September 2017. Law enforcement says this could classify the firearm as a loose gun, making continued possession a potential violation of firearm laws.
Authorities stated:
“We will transmit this information to the CIDG to aid in their investigation and further prosecution of Mangusin and all of his cohorts. We will put a stop to Mangusin and all his fraudulent schemes. We will not allow any Filipino to be victimized by Mangusin ever again.”
The findings will be forwarded to the PNP - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), which is handling related complaints and may determine whether additional charges will be filed. Authorities have not released further updates as the investigation continues.
