Marathon Arrives March 5 With New Trailer And DualSense Reveal

Bungie has confirmed that Marathon, its upcoming PvPvE survival extraction shooter, will launch on March 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement comes with a new story-driven trailer, details on pre-order bonuses, special editions, and the reveal of a Marathon Limited Edition DualSense controller.
Set on the mysterious planet Tau Ceti IV, Marathon puts players in the role of bio-cybernetic Runners who venture solo or in teams of three to battle hostile forces, rival players, and dangerous environments while uncovering the fate of a lost human expedition. The new trailer is narrated by Gantry of the anti-establishment faction MIDA, one of six factions offering unique contracts, storylines, and upgrade paths.
End-game content includes the Cryo Archive, unlocking in Season 1 aboard the UESC Marathon ship, where players will breach frozen vaults and face an entity feared even by the UESC.
Bungie and PlayStation also unveiled the Marathon Limited Edition DualSense controller, featuring bold graphics inspired by the game’s futuristic industrial design. Bungie said:
“We were excited for the opportunity to commemorate Marathon’s launch with a limited edition design that would excite our fans and our team, and feel like a true part of the world we’re building, something that could exist naturally alongside other objects in the game and feel functional, grounded, and authentic to the universe of Marathon.”
The controller launches on March 5, 2026, priced at $84.99, with pre-orders starting January 29, 2026 via direct.playstation.com and select retailers.
Marathon will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions, with the latter featuring a premium unboxing experience, a 1/6-scale Thief Runner Shell statue, and exclusive digital rewards.
