Marcos: Fast Internet Key To Everyday Life Of Filipinos

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of fast and reliable internet connectivity in improving the daily lives of Filipinos during the Philippine Telecommunications Summit 2026, highlighting how digital access continues to shape education, healthcare, and economic opportunities across the country.
In his speech, the President stressed that internet speed is not just about technology or infrastructure, but about how it directly benefits ordinary citizens — from students in remote areas to families seeking better access to information and services.
“Binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Philippine Telecommunications Summit 2026 na ang tunay na saysay ng mabilis at maaasahang internet connectivity ay makikita sa pang-araw-araw na buhay ng bawat Pilipino. Ayon sa Pangulo, nasusukat ang bilis ng internet connectivity sa mga estudyanteng nasa malalayong lugar na patuloy na nakakapag-aral online; sa mga mamamayang mas mabilis na nakaka-access ng serbisyong pangkalusugan at pinansyal sa pamamagitan ng digital platforms; at sa mga pamilyang mas napapalapit sa impormasyon at mga oportunidad para sa mas maayos na kinabukasan.”
He also underscored the need to continue strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure to expand access to education, public services, and business opportunities — particularly in underserved and remote communities.
Participants at the summit noted the ongoing collaboration between the government and the telecommunications sector to improve nationwide connectivity, reduce the digital divide, and accelerate the Philippines’ digital transformation.
As technology continues to evolve rapidly, the President reiterated that true progress should be measured by how everyday Filipinos feel the benefits of faster, more reliable, and more accessible internet in their daily lives.
