Marcos Names Cuna As Acting DENR Chief; Lotilla Heads To Vatican Post

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna as the agency’s acting Secretary, Malacañang confirmed on Friday.
The announcement was made by PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, who also revealed a new diplomatic assignment for outgoing Environment Secretary Raphael Lotilla.
Lotilla has been designated as the Philippine Ambassador to the Holy See, a key diplomatic post representing the country to the Vatican.
Cuna, who previously served as DENR Undersecretary, steps into the leadership role at a time when the department continues to face pressing issues on environmental protection, climate resilience, and natural resource management.
The reshuffle signals a transition in leadership at the DENR, while Lotilla prepares to take on his new role in the country’s diplomatic service.
