President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Christina Garcia Frasco as Presidential Adviser for Sustainable and Resilient Communities, Malacanang announced.

Frasco previously served as secretary of the Department of Tourism before taking on the new role in the administration.
Following the leadership change, the Department of Tourism will be temporarily led by Officer-in-Charge Verna Buensuceso, who currently serves as a tourism undersecretary.

According to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro, the President expressed gratitude for Frasco’s work at the tourism department and confidence in her continued service in government.

"The President expressed his appreciation for her service at the Department of Tourism and conveyed confidence that her experience working closely with local governments and communities will continue to support the Administration's priorities," Castro stated.

The new appointment places Frasco in a role focused on helping advance programs related to sustainable development and strengthening community resilience, key priorities of the Marcos administration.
