Actress Matet De Leon has broken her silence anew amid the continuing controversy surrounding the estate and legacy of her late mother, National Artist Nora Aunor, saying the public does not know the full story behind the family issues that have recently become the subject of intense online discussion.

In a lengthy social media post, Matet pushed back against critics and defended herself and her siblings from accusations that they were trying to take control of their mother's inheritance.

“Ang tunay na kaaway ay kayo. Nag co comment ng kung ano ano. Na para bang may nagawa kami sainyo mismo,” Matet wrote, addressing online bashers.

The actress said many things have happened within the family that have not been revealed publicly, adding that people have been making assumptions without knowing the circumstances behind the disagreements.

She also acknowledged that statements made by her brother, Ian De Leon, reflected his own truth, but maintained that there are aspects of the story that have yet to be told.

The latest exchange comes after Ian, Nora Aunor's only biological son, reiterated in a television interview that he is the sole legal heir of the late Superstar. He also explained the creation of a one-person corporation that oversees the Nora Aunor Enterprise and the Nora Aunor Foundation, saying the move was intended to preserve the legacy of the National Artist and support charitable projects.

The issue has sparked divisions among fans and triggered renewed scrutiny over the relationship between Ian and his adopted siblings, including Lotlot and Matet De Leon. Despite earlier insisting that there was no feud, Matet previously admitted that misunderstandings existed within the family.

In her latest post, Matet rejected accusations that she was ungrateful toward her mother, saying she cared for Nora Aunor to the best of her ability and that her late mother knew how grateful she had always been.

She also addressed Ian directly, urging him to acknowledge his own mistakes and deny allegations that she and her siblings were attempting to seize control of their mother's assets.

“Para sa’yo, ‘kuya’ Ian, sana sinabi mo rin sa tao yung mga nagawa mong mali. Na hindi totoong nang kakamkam kami,” she wrote.

Matet likewise referred to a Zoom meeting previously mentioned by Ian and questioned the purpose of the discussions, saying she believed they were related to a theatrical project and not to the enterprise or foundation that later became a point of contention.

The dispute over Nora Aunor's estate and legacy has unfolded in public in recent months, with both sides exchanging statements through interviews and social media. Last week, Lotlot De Leon also publicly disputed some of Ian's remarks, insisting that neither she nor Matet had attempted to claim their late mother's inheritance.

Despite the growing tension, Matet urged people to stop attacking one another online, saying outsiders have little knowledge of what truly happened within the family.
