The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has assured customers that those with pending billing complaints will not have their electricity service disconnected while their cases are under review.
The clarification comes amid growing public concern over electricity bills and billing issues that have circulated on social media in recent weeks.
According to Meralco, customers who have formally raised billing concerns can expect their electricity service to remain uninterrupted as the company investigates and resolves their complaints. The power distributor also emphasized that the nationwide suspension of disconnection activities for unpaid electricity bills covering the May to July 2026 billing periods remains in effect under an earlier directive from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Meralco encouraged customers with concerns about their electricity bills, power consumption, or meter readings to report them through the company's official customer service channels. The utility said each complaint is being carefully evaluated to ensure that customers receive the appropriate response and resolution.
The company also urged the public to rely on its official communication platforms for updates and accurate information regarding billing concerns and other customer service matters, as it continues to address inquiries and process complaints.
