The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led One Meralco Foundation (OMF) once again partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) for Brigada Eskwela 2026, helping public schools prepare for the opening of classes.
From June 1 to 5, volunteers from Meralco and OMF took part in activities aimed at making schools safer and more ready for students. Among the beneficiaries was Bagong Ilog Elementary School in Pasig City, where volunteers from the Pasig Sector and Business Center turned over LED lights, cleaning supplies, and painting materials to school personnel.
The volunteers also conducted electrical safety inspections and helped repaint school chairs as part of efforts to create a safer and more energy-efficient learning environment for students and teachers.
Aside from Pasig City, similar initiatives were carried out in public schools in Marikina City, Las Piñas City, Sampaloc and Tondo in Manila, as well as Dasmariñas City, Tagaytay City, Indang, and Mendez in Cavite. Schools in Biñan City, Laguna, and Talisay, Batangas also received assistance from the foundation.
OMF, the social responsibility arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has been supporting Brigada Eskwela as part of its commitment to helping communities and promoting school safety and preparedness ahead of the opening of classes.
