As more Filipinos explore electric vehicles, Movem Electric, Inc. is ramping up efforts to help make EV charging more accessible and reliable across the country.

The company, which serves as the electric mobility arm of Meralco, recently took part in the Solar & Storage Live Philippines 2026 conference held on May 19 and 20, where industry leaders discussed how the country can accelerate the shift toward cleaner transportation.

Representing Movem at the event was President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph M. Menchavez, who joined conversations on expanding EV charging infrastructure and improving support systems for future mobility.

According to Menchavez, building reliable charging stations is one of the biggest keys to encouraging more people and businesses to switch to electric vehicles. He also stressed the importance of developing charging solutions that can adapt to the growing demands of EV users in the coming years.

“This infrastructure rollout must be complemented by strong public private collaboration and targeted incentives to accelerate investment and improve utilization,” Menchavez said.

The conference also highlighted the need for stronger cooperation between government agencies, power utilities, technology providers, and private companies to address infrastructure challenges and boost EV adoption nationwide.

Movem and Meralco continue to support programs focused on sustainable transportation, grid readiness, and the long-term growth of the country’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
