Healthcare services in Laguna are set to get a stronger energy backbone as MPower teams up with Calamba Medical Center through a new Retail Electricity Supply Agreement aimed at improving efficiency and supporting the hospital’s growing operations.

The partnership allows five of CMC’s service accounts to enroll under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), while another account joins the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM). This setup gives the hospital access to more competitive electricity rates and flexible energy solutions for its facilities across Laguna.

As one of South Luzon’s leading healthcare institutions, Calamba Medical Center continues to expand its services to meet the needs of more communities. Hospital officials said the partnership with MPower is expected to help improve operational efficiency while supporting long-term sustainability goals.

“We see this partnership not just as a way to save on costs, but as our contribution to the nation, maximizing resources and building a better future for the next generation,” CMC President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira said.

The agreement also opens the door for future collaboration, especially as the hospital prepares for the construction of new medical buildings in the coming years.

“This is only the beginning, and with MPower’s support, we are confident we can do even more—both for our hospital and in contributing to the country’s responsible use of resources. We also look forward to expanding this partnership with the upcoming construction of CMC’s new medical buildings,” Almira added.

For MPower, the partnership reflects its growing role in supporting critical industries such as healthcare through stable and adaptable energy services.

“We are proud to support Calamba Medical Center as it expands its capacity to serve more communities in Laguna. For us, powering healthcare goes beyond providing reliable supply. It means enabling institutions to operate with greater efficiency, resilience, and readiness for what’s ahead. This partnership reflects how we continue to evolve our energy solutions alongside our customers’ growing need,” said Meralco Senior Vice President and MPower Head Redel M. Domingo.

MPower, the retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company, currently serves major corporations and contestable customers within Meralco’s franchise area. The company also continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio in response to increasing demand for more sustainable power solutions.
