The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has clarified details surrounding its recent operation at Chicago Family KTV, stressing that the raid was carried out legally and in coordination with other government agencies.
According to the agency, the operation followed proper legal procedures and was conducted in line with evidentiary standards required by the justice system. Authorities emphasized that individuals who were initially found on the premises but were not linked to any criminal activity were released after proper identification and processing. However, the NBI noted that they may still face charges later if evidence warrants it, consistent with constitutional protections against unlawful detention.
The bureau explained that its investigation focuses on building strong cases against operators and possible traffickers, while also prioritizing the protection of victims. It added that the case is still ongoing and far from finished.
In the coming days, the NBI said it is preparing to file additional charges against other individuals and entities in coordination with the Department of Justice–Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT). Officials said they are being careful in building the case to ensure strong evidence that will hold up in court.
The NBI reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and said its actions will ultimately speak for the integrity of its investigation.
