The government has restored access to the Official Gazette and the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) websites after both platforms experienced a temporary disruption on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), working closely with the PCO, confirmed that the two websites became inaccessible at around 3 p.m. on May 19.
According to the agency, technical teams were immediately mobilized to assess the problem and begin restoration efforts.
By 12:28 a.m. on May 20, monitoring showed that both websites were fully operational again and accessible to the public. However, the DICT noted that some users may still encounter slightly slower page loading times while system optimization work continues.
The DICT’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has launched a detailed investigation into the incident and is currently preparing the necessary audit logs to determine what caused the disruption.
Authorities are looking into several possible factors, including scheduled maintenance activities, configuration updates, intentional administrative actions, or potential external causes.
The DICT assured the public that it is coordinating closely with the PCO to verify the exact reason behind the temporary outage and pledged to release additional information once the investigation yields confirmed findings.
For now, both the Official Gazette and PCO websites remain online and accessible
