The remains of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Mary Jill Muya arrived in the Philippines on January 19, via PAL Cargo, weeks after she was found lifeless inside her room in Abu Dhabi on December 31, 2025.

Authorities said Mary Jill’s remains are now in transit to her hometown in Iloilo, where her family is preparing to finally bring her home and lay her to rest.

Amid the family’s grief, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) assured the public that they remain in close coordination and are providing the necessary assistance and support to Mary Jill’s loved ones.

The agencies reiterated their commitment to extending care, compassion, and aid to OFWs and their families, especially during times of loss and hardship.

As Mary Jill returns home, her story once again highlights the sacrifices made by Filipino workers abroad — and the importance of standing by their families when tragedy strikes
