Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez has called for a thorough investigation into the allegations involving teachers at Parañaque National High School (PNHS)-Main that recently sparked concern among students, parents, and netizens.
The issue gained attention after reports and social media posts surfaced alleging inappropriate conduct by some teachers toward students. The allegations prompted calls for accountability and a deeper investigation into the matter. As of writing, authorities have yet to release official findings regarding the claims.
In a statement issued on June 23, Olivarez stressed that schools should remain safe spaces for learners and that any reported misconduct must be addressed properly.
“Deplorable acts should never occur in classrooms that are expected to be safe spaces for our children,” the mayor said.
He also expressed solidarity with those affected by the incident.
“We are one with the victims in seeking justice and accountability.”
Olivarez urged both the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to look into the allegations and determine the facts surrounding the case.
“We call on the Department of Education and the Philippine National Police to conduct a thorough investigation on this matter.”
The mayor's statement comes as concerns continue to grow over student safety and welfare inside educational institutions. Many netizens have called for swift action from authorities to ensure that the allegations are properly investigated and that appropriate measures are taken if violations are found.
While the investigation is ongoing, city officials emphasized the importance of due process while ensuring that the voices of students and potential victims are heard and protected.
