P5.71L Diesel Rollback Set For June 16
FILE
Motorists can expect lower prices for diesel and kerosene beginning Tuesday, June 16, while gasoline prices may either post a slight rollback or a modest increase, depending on the product and oil company.

Former Energy undersecretary and AAMBIS-OWA Party-list Rep. Sharon Garin announced that the latest fuel price adjustments will take effect starting June 16.

Based on industry estimates, diesel prices are set to decline by as much as P5.71 per liter, offering much-needed relief to public utility vehicle operators, truckers and businesses that rely heavily on fuel.

Kerosene prices are also expected to drop by up to P2.50 per liter, while gasoline prices may either go down by P0.32 per liter or rise by as much as P1.68 per liter, depending on the grade and oil company.

The mixed price movements reflect developments in the global oil market, including concerns over supply disruptions and fluctuations in international trading prices over the past week.

Oil companies typically announce their official price adjustments every Monday, with the changes taking effect the following day.

The Department of Energy has advised motorists to monitor announcements from fuel firms, noting that actual pump prices may vary among retailers and across different areas.

The latest rollback marks one of the biggest reductions in diesel prices in recent weeks and is expected to ease transportation and operating costs for many sectors.
