Palace Brushes Off Makabayan Claims, Says Allegations Are 'Irrelevant'

Malacañang on Monday pushed back against accusations from the Makabayan bloc tagging President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the “biggest fish” in alleged corruption tied to flood-control projects, calling the claims baseless and politically motivated.
Palace Press Officer and PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro dismissed the lawmakers’ statements during a press briefing, saying the bloc has made a habit of throwing accusations without evidence.
She reiterated that President Marcos remains unfazed by the allegations, insisting he has done nothing wrong.
The Palace maintained that the administration is focused on ongoing investigations and governance priorities, describing the corruption claims as “irrelevant” distractions.
As probes into the alleged anomalies continue, officials say they welcome evidence-based complaints but will not entertain what they consider political noise.
