Former Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has officially assumed the role of Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Al-Amanah Islamic Investment Bank of the Philippines, vowing to strengthen the institution and expand access to financial services for more Filipinos.

In a statement, Pangandaman said she is honored by the trust placed in her and is committed to advancing financial inclusion and growing Islamic banking, particularly for communities that have long had limited access to banking services.

“I begin this new chapter with humility and a clear commitment: to help build a stronger institution that expands financial inclusion, grows Islamic banking, and delivers opportunities to more Filipinos, especially those who have long been left behind.”

She also underscored the importance of working alongside the bank's employees, partners, and stakeholders as Al-Amanah continues to strengthen its services and create more opportunities through inclusive finance.

Pangandaman said she is looking forward to building on the bank's existing initiatives while upholding integrity and ensuring that inclusive finance remains a key driver of growth and development.
