PH, Japan Strengthen Economic Ties Ahead Of Marcos Visit

The Philippines and Japan are further strengthening their long-standing partnership as both nations celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations this year.
Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go recently met with Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines ENDO Kazuya to discuss ways to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.
Among the topics tackled during the meeting were preparations for the upcoming state visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Japan, which is expected to further boost bilateral ties and investment opportunities.
Both officials also reaffirmed their commitment to the timely implementation of Japan-backed flagship infrastructure projects in the Philippines. These projects are seen as key to creating more quality jobs, improving transportation and connectivity, and supporting the country’s long-term economic growth.
The Philippines and Japan have maintained close diplomatic and economic relations for decades, with Japan remaining one of the Philippines’ top development and investment partners.
