PNP-CIDG Launches Hotlines; Offers P10M Reward For Atong Ang
FILE
The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has launched nationwide hotlines to receive tips leading to the arrest of Charlie “Atong” Ang, the lead suspect in the high-profile missing sabungeros case.
The hotlines — 0960-6923025 and 0456-115926 — are open 24/7 and will accept information from anywhere in the country. Posters featuring Ang’s photo and possible locations have been displayed in CIDG offices and other public spaces nationwide to help authorities track him down.
The launch of the hotlines follows the announcement of a ₱10-million reward for anyone who provides information that leads to Ang’s capture. Authorities say the measures are intended to speed up his arrest and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
Meanwhile, the PNP-CIDG arrested three police officers on January 16, 2026, in connection with the same case. The three, among 21 accused in the six-count kidnapping with homicide case, are now under restrictive custody at the PNP Headquarters Administrative Unit (PHAU) even before their warrants were formally served. These arrests mark a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on those allegedly involved in the disappearance of the missing sabungeros.
Authorities said the combination of hotlines, nationwide alerts, and ongoing investigations is part of a broader effort to apprehend all individuals responsible and hold them accountable for the disappearance of the missing sabungeros.
