MANILA, Philippines — The benchmark index of the Philippine Stock Exchange ended higher on Tuesday, buoyed by renewed foreign buying activity.
On March 3, 2026, the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed at 6,445.38, up 18.55 points or 0.29 percent from the previous session.
Trading activity remained steady, with total value turnover reaching PHP 8.9 billion. Market breadth, however, leaned negative as decliners outpaced advancers, 117 to 83, while 60 issues were unchanged.
Despite the mixed market sentiment, foreign investors were net buyers for the day. Foreign buying totaled Php 4,806,256,312.52, while foreign selling reached Php 3,231,417,661.98, resulting in net foreign buying of Php 1,574,838,650.54.
The strong net inflow from foreign funds helped lift the main index, signaling improved investor confidence in select Philippine equities.
Analysts said sustained foreign participation could provide additional support to the market in the near term, although investors are still expected to tread carefully amid global and domestic economic developments.
With the PSEi holding above the 6,400 level, traders will be watching whether buying momentum can be maintained in the coming sessions.
