PSEi Drops 100 Points As Foreign Selling Pressures Market

The Philippine stock market closed lower on June 22, 2026, with the PSEi finishing at 6,035.02, down 100.33 points or 1.64 percent as selling pressure dominated trading.

Market sentiment stayed weak throughout the session, with total value turnover reaching PHP 10.2 billion. Decliners clearly outpaced advancers, as 116 stocks fell compared to 74 that gained, while 50 remained unchanged, reflecting a broadly negative trading day.

Foreign investors also leaned toward selling, adding to the downward pressure on the index. Total foreign buying reached PHP 3.84 billion, while foreign selling amounted to PHP 4.76 billion, resulting in net foreign selling of PHP 924.26 million.

Overall, the session showed continued caution in the market, with investors staying defensive amid persistent outflows and limited upward momentum across most counters.
