The Philippine stock market ended lower on Friday, with the benchmark PSEi slipping by 91.18 points, or 1.56 percent, to close at 5,768.76.
Investor sentiment remained weak throughout the session as foreign investors continued heavy selling activity, outweighing buying interest in the local market.
Total market turnover reached PHP 26.4 billion, while declining stocks outnumbered advancers, 106 to 75. Meanwhile, 61 companies closed unchanged.
Foreign buying for the day stood at Php 16.37 billion, but this was overshadowed by foreign selling worth Php 23.02 billion, resulting in a net foreign selling position of Php 6.65 billion.
The continued outflow of foreign funds added pressure on the local bourse, with traders remaining cautious amid broader market uncertainties.
