The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) managed to stay in positive territory on Friday, June 26, although gains were minimal as investors remained cautious throughout the trading session.

The benchmark index closed at 6,072.24, inching up by just 1.18 points, or 0.02 percent, after fluctuating during the day. Despite the modest increase, the market ended the week on a positive note.

Trading activity remained healthy, with total value turnover reaching P8.5 billion. Market breadth also leaned positive as 97 stocks advanced, outnumbering 80 decliners, while 66 issues ended unchanged.

Foreign investors, however, continued to be net sellers. Foreign buying totaled P3.22 billion, while foreign selling reached P3.71 billion, resulting in a net foreign outflow of P481.57 million.

The session reflected a generally cautious sentiment among investors, with buying interest enough to keep the main index slightly above the previous close despite continued foreign fund outflows.
