PSEi Ends Higher As Investors Return To Buying

The Philippine stock market managed to end Thursday in positive territory, with the benchmark index posting modest gains amid stronger trading activity.
The PSEi closed at 5,920.70, up 27.30 points or 0.46 percent on May 21, 2026.
Market activity reached PHP6.5 billion in total value traded, reflecting improved investor participation during the session. Despite the index finishing higher, decliners still outnumbered advancers, with 99 stocks falling compared to 69 gainers, while 65 issues ended unchanged.
Foreign investors remained net sellers for the day. Foreign buying reached PHP3.54 billion, while foreign selling stood at PHP3.73 billion, resulting in net foreign selling of PHP190.76 million.
The market’s climb comes after recent volatile trading sessions, as investors continue to watch both global economic developments and local corporate earnings for direction.
