The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended lower on April 28, 2026, as selling pressure—particularly from foreign investors—pulled the market into negative territory.
The benchmark index closed at 5,866.79, down 34.36 points or 0.58 percent, reflecting a cautious mood among investors.
Market activity remained relatively active, with total trading value reaching PHP 8.0 billion. However, decliners outnumbered advancers, 117 to 68, signaling broad-based weakness across sectors, while 58 stocks remained unchanged.
Foreign investors were net sellers for the day, with foreign selling at Php 5.52 billion exceeding foreign buying of Php 4.65 billion, resulting in a net outflow of Php 878.07 million. This continued outflow contributed significantly to the market’s decline.
The session’s performance highlights ongoing investor caution, as the dominance of declining stocks and sustained foreign selling weighed on overall sentiment.
Despite the dip, market watchers continue to monitor upcoming economic signals and corporate developments that could influence trading direction in the coming days.
