PSEi Inches Higher As Market Ends Slightly Up On Light Trading

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended Tuesday, April 21, 2026, with a modest gain, closing at 6,018.70—up 2.67 points or 0.04 percent.
Trading remained relatively quiet throughout the session, with total market value reaching PHP 6.9 billion.
Market breadth was slightly positive, with 106 gainers outpacing 90 decliners, while 76 issues were unchanged, showing a generally balanced sentiment among investors.
Foreign flows, however, stayed under pressure. Foreign buying reached PHP 4.38 billion, while foreign selling was higher at PHP 4.69 billion, resulting in a net foreign selling position of PHP 311.95 million.
Despite the mild uptick in the index, overall movement reflected a cautious market tone, with investors still weighing external signals and local economic developments.
