PSEi Jumps Nearly 2 Percent, Foreign Investors Return As Market Rallies

Philippine stocks posted a strong rebound on Tuesday, June 2, with the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) climbing nearly 2% as investors returned to the market and foreign funds registered significant net buying.

The PSEi closed at 5,912.69, gaining 113.37 points or 1.95 percent from the previous session. The rally was supported by positive market breadth, with 98 stocks advancing, compared to 79 decliners, while 60 issues ended unchanged.

Trading activity reached Php 6.7 billion, reflecting steady participation from investors throughout the session.

Foreign investors also emerged as net buyers, providing additional support to the market. Foreign buying totaled Php 3.74 billion, while foreign selling reached Php 3.11 billion, resulting in net foreign buying of Php 628.73 million.

The positive finish marked one of the market’s stronger performances in recent sessions, with gains outnumbering losses across the local bourse.

Market participants continue to monitor economic developments and corporate news for clues on the direction of trading in the days ahead, while investors remain watchful of both domestic and global market conditions.
