The Philippine stock market bounced back on March 24, with the PSEi closing higher as investors returned to bargain hunting.

The benchmark index rose by 37.02 points, or 0.63%, to finish at 5,936.20. The uptick reflects renewed buying interest after recent declines, with more stocks advancing than declining during the session.

Market activity showed a positive breadth, with 129 gainers outpacing 63 losers, while 59 stocks remained unchanged. Total trading value reached ₱5.6 billion, indicating moderate investor participation.

Despite the overall gain, foreign investors remained net sellers for the day. Foreign buying totaled ₱2.47 billion, while foreign selling reached ₱3.22 billion, resulting in a net outflow of ₱755.56 million.

Analysts say the market’s recovery may be driven by selective buying in undervalued stocks, although continued foreign outflows suggest lingering caution among global investors.

Moving forward, market watchers are expected to keep a close eye on both local economic signals and global developments, which could influence the market’s direction in the coming days.
