Pulong Duterte Calls For Fair Trial As VP Sara's Impeachment Proceedings Begin

As the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte officially gets underway, Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte is calling for a fair and impartial process, saying the public deserves nothing less than the truth.
In a statement released on Monday, Pulong Duterte expressed hope that the Senate impeachment court would handle the proceedings with professionalism and without unnecessary distractions.
He said the trial should finally clear the air after months of accusations, political narratives, speculation, and public debate surrounding the case.
"The Filipino people deserve facts—not rumors, evidence—not insinuations, and truth—not propaganda," the lawmaker stressed.
Pulong also reiterated that Vice President Sara Duterte is ready to face the allegations against her and is confident she will have the chance to answer every charge through the proper legal process.
As the historic trial begins, he urged the public to allow the Senate impeachment court to carry out its constitutional duty and to keep an open mind while the proceedings unfold.
While political attacks may dominate headlines, Pulong said only evidence and facts can ultimately determine the truth. He added that he remains hopeful the trial will not only address the allegations but also reveal the motivations behind them.
"Let the evidence speak. Let the facts prevail. Let the truth come out," the Davao lawmaker said.
