Alfred Vargas' Wife Files 20 Counts Of Cyber Libel Against Actor Rob Sy

Actor and public figure Alfred Vargas and his family have broken their silence following recent online discussions involving their son, saying they were left with no choice but to take legal action after repeated posts allegedly containing false accusations.
In a public statement, the family acknowledged the attention surrounding them in recent days, saying they initially tried to handle the matter privately for the sake of their children, who they said have already gone through emotional distress.
They expressed gratitude for the messages of support and prayers they have received, saying these have helped strengthen them amid the situation.
The family explained that while they are generally private and avoid conflict, continued online posts prompted them to finally speak out. They said silence was no longer an option as the situation continued to affect their family.
They confirmed that 20 counts of cyber libel have been filed in response to what they described as false claims circulating online. According to them, attempts were made as early as February to resolve the matter through proper discussion, but the posts allegedly continued despite their efforts to remain silent.
The family maintained that the accusations being circulated are untrue and damaging to their reputation, adding that they have already submitted evidence as part of the formal complaint process and are trusting that the truth will come out through legal proceedings.
They also made a public appeal for restraint, urging people to avoid spreading unverified claims, harmful speculation, or negative comments online, emphasizing that bullying in any form should not be tolerated in society.
