Another Fuel Price Jump Looms As February Opens

Motorists are in for another squeeze next week as fuel companies gear up for what will be the fifth price hike of the year—and it’s shaping up to be a painful one.

Industry sources indicate that diesel and kerosene will see the biggest increases once adjustments take effect on February 3, 2026, continuing the upward streak fueled by higher global oil prices and rising operational costs.

Based on early estimates, here’s what drivers can expect:

• Gasoline: +₱0.50 to +₱0.70 per liter
• Diesel: +₱1.30 to +₱1.50 per liter
• Kerosene: +₱1.00 to +₱1.20 per liter

These estimates already factor in premium pricing and oil companies’ operational expenses.

For many commuters and transport groups, another jump so soon into the year adds pressure to daily budgets—especially with diesel posting some of the largest increases so far.

Official price adjustments will be announced by fuel companies early next week, but the trend is clear: February is kicking off with another heavy hit to the pump.
