Veteran broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio has firmly denied allegations that he received a paper bag containing money allegedly sent on the orders of former congressman Zaldy Co.

The accusation surfaced during a press conference involving former bodyguards of Co, where one of them, Mario Ceniza Jr., claimed that Clavio was among several media personalities who supposedly received cash.

In a statement, Clavio dismissed the allegation as completely false, describing it as both absurd and disheartening.

“Lies. It’s ridiculous and saddening. But I will face all of these accusations without fear. Talk is cheap. Before you talk big, show the evidence first,” Clavio said.

The broadcaster maintained that he has nothing to hide and remains unfazed by the accusation. He stressed that allegations should be backed by proof rather than mere claims.

Clavio also challenged his accuser to bring the matter before the courts and repeat the allegations there, insisting that the claims against him are baseless.

The allegation emerged amid a series of statements made by former associates of Co, though no evidence supporting the claim against Clavio has been publicly presented so far.

As the issue continues to draw public attention, Clavio said he is prepared to confront the accusation head-on and defend himself through the proper legal channels if necessary.
