Ateneo de Manila University is moving forward with preparations to bring the remains of Nigerian student Divine Adili back to his homeland, honoring the wishes of his family and reaffirming its commitment to supporting them during this difficult time.
According to the university, arrangements are currently being finalized to repatriate Divine’s remains to Nigeria, where he will be laid to rest by his loved ones. While travel and documentary requirements are still being coordinated with his family and the relevant authorities, efforts are ongoing to ensure that the process is carried out with dignity, care, and respect.
As part of these preparations, Ateneo has committed to sending two university representatives to accompany Divine on his final journey home. One of them, Fr. Munching de Guzman, SJ, has already begun making the necessary travel preparations, including securing required vaccinations and medications for entry into Nigeria.
The university emphasized that it remains steadfast in supporting Divine’s family as arrangements continue. Ateneo also called on members of its community to keep Divine and his loved ones in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
The repatriation marks a significant step in ensuring that Divine is returned to his family and home country with the honor and respect he deserves.
