Voter registration in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is back as preparations begin for the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

The Commission on Elections has announced that registration resumes on Monday, urging all qualified voters to visit their local Comelec offices or designated satellite registration centers in their cities and municipalities.

Election officers’ offices will be open to accept applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, unless Comelec issues a new advisory.

The registration covers all BARMM areas, including Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and the Special Geographic Areas.

To qualify as a regular voter, applicants must be at least 18 years old on Election Day, have lived in the Philippines for at least one year, and have resided in the place where they are registering for at least six months before the polls.

For Sangguniang Kabataan voters, those eligible must be between 15 and 30 years old and must have been living in their barangay for at least six months on or before the SK elections.

Aside from new registrations, Comelec is also accepting applications for changes in name or civil status, correction of entries, reactivation of voter records, inclusion or reinstatement in the voters’ list, and transfer from overseas to local registration.

Voters may also update records for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and members of indigenous peoples and indigenous cultural communities during the registration period.

The voter registration period will run until March 31, 2026, giving residents ample time to make sure they are eligible to vote in next year’s barangay and youth elections.
