Bella Belen Shines Bright As PVL Rookie Of The Year

Bella Belen quickly proved why she was one of the most anticipated rookies in the Premier Volleyball League after making an immediate impact for the Capital1 Solar Spikers in her long-awaited debut season.
After finally joining the league, the Alas Pilipinas standout wasted no time establishing herself as Capital1’s main offensive weapon in both the Reinforced Conference and the All-Filipino Conference.
Her impressive campaign earned her the Rookie of the Year award during the 2nd Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night scheduled on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Quezon City.
The former National University star topped the voting with a combined total of 186.284 points, built from media votes, team votes, and statistical points.
Belen outshone fellow rookies AC Miner, Jean Asis, and Riza Nogales for the season honor.
The 23-year-old spiker also showcased her all-around game throughout the conference. She finished third in scoring during the preliminary round with 218 points while posting an impressive spiking efficiency rate. On defense, Belen also ranked among the league’s best receivers.
Aside from the Rookie of the Year plum, Belen is also set to headline the season’s Mythical Team and receive the Best Outside Spiker award after leading the position in total votes and statistical points.
Joining her as Best Outside Spiker is Savi Davison of PLDT High Speed Hitters, who also delivered a strong performance throughout the PVL season.
