Senator Bong Go made one thing crystal clear—his loyalty to the Duterte family isn’t going anywhere.

“Even if you skin me, I will still be Duterte,” Go said in a mix of humor and conviction, underscoring how deeply he identifies with the political clan of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Speaking during the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP) National Council meeting in Manila and later at the launch of the RAGE Coalition, Go tied his message of loyalty to a broader political vision—one that centers on Vice President Sara Duterte and a potential 2028 presidential run.

According to Go, the country’s return to “normal life” depends on her winning the presidency.

“We can only go back to normal if VP Inday Sara becomes president,” he said, reinforcing his belief in continuity under Duterte-aligned leadership.

Go didn’t hold back in expressing his personal affection for the family either.

“No matter what happens, I truly love Tatay Digong and his children,” he added, referring to the former president.

But beyond loyalty and sentiment, Go also pointed to the political realities inside the Senate. He admitted that even top-ranking senators like himself and Robin Padilla struggle to push measures forward without stronger numbers.

“We’re like wet chicks there—we’re at the back,” Go said candidly, illustrating how difficult it is to advance legislation without a solid majority.

For him, it all comes down to a numbers game.

“In the Senate, numbers really matter. If you have more allies, you can better support the president and the executive department,” he explained.

That’s why Go is urging PDP members to rebuild and strengthen their ranks ahead of the next election cycle, expressing confidence that the party can bounce back just like it did during Duterte’s presidency.

He also emphasized the importance of preserving what he described as the Duterte legacy, calling it a shared responsibility among allies and supporters.

“What’s important is that we continue and protect Tatay Digong’s legacy so that what he started won’t go to waste,” Go said.

As he wrapped up his message, Go struck a more personal tone—asking supporters to include the former president in their prayers.

“Please continue to pray for Tatay Digong’s health and well-being,” he said.
