Chinese National Nabbed For Posing As Filipino

Immigration authorities have arrested a 47-year-old Chinese national in Batangas for allegedly posing as a Filipino and securing fraudulent government documents.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado presented the suspect to the media following his arrest. The individual was identified as Zhi Ling Guan, who also reportedly used the names Shi Nengyuan and Mike Sy.
According to authorities, the suspect allegedly obtained fake identification documents, including a Philippine passport. Records from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) showed that he secured a driver’s license under the name Shi Nengyuan, while a passport was reportedly issued to him under the name Mike Sy.
The arrest was carried out with the assistance of the LTO and the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Officials are now conducting further investigation to determine how the suspect was able to obtain the documents and whether other individuals were involved in the scheme.
