Coalition Marks Duterte's ICC Transfer Anniversary With March 11 Motorcade

A coalition of Duterte allies and supporters is calling for a massive motorcade on March 11, 2026, at Villamor Air Base to mark what they describe as the “political banishment” of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The date commemorates the first anniversary of Duterte’s arrest and transfer to The Hague in March 2025, where he was brought to face proceedings before the International Criminal Court. Organizers claim the move was a betrayal of national sovereignty and an attempt by political opponents to silence a leader they say continues to command strong public support.
In a statement released Friday, the coalition said the March 11 gathering would serve both as a protest and a “national reckoning.” They argue that Duterte’s removal bypassed the country’s own justice system and amounted to what they called a “state kidnapping.”
Beyond defending the former president, the group also framed the event as part of a broader campaign against what they describe as deep-rooted corruption in government. They accused unnamed officials of allowing billions in public funds to be lost to graft and mismanagement, saying ordinary Filipinos are paying the price.
“This is about more than one man,” the coalition said. “This is about reclaiming our institutions and demanding integrity in public service.”
Supporters are also using the anniversary event to rally behind Vice President Sara Duterte, whom they describe as the “people’s choice for reform.” According to organizers, the motorcade will double as a show of support for her leadership and a call for what they termed a “national cleansing” of corrupt systems.
The motorcade is scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 11, with participants set to assemble along White Plains Avenue before proceeding through EDSA toward Villamor Air Base. Organizers are urging supporters to join what they describe as a peaceful show of unity.
“Let our engines roar as one,” the statement read, “to reclaim our dignity and demand an end to corruption.”
Several prominent Duterte allies and advocacy groups signed the call, including former officials, lawyers, retired military officers, and grassroots organizations aligned with the former president’s camp.
