Dizon Leads Push For Faster Farm Routes As Tarlac Bypass Road Gets Close Look

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon is taking a hands-on approach in improving road connectivity—this time zeroing in on bypass roads that could make life easier for farmers and motorists alike.

Dizon recently inspected the Estrada Bypass Road in Capas, part of a broader effort to ease travel from northern areas to key markets and commercial hubs in Tarlac. The goal is simple: cut travel time, reduce costs, and make transporting goods more efficient.

The move follows a directive from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to prioritize bypass road projects across the country. These roads are seen as faster, more efficient alternatives—especially crucial now as fuel prices continue to rise.

For Dizon, the impact goes beyond traffic flow.

He emphasized the need to secure funding for these projects, particularly because they double as farm-to-market roads. With better road access, farmers can transport their harvest more quickly and at lower cost—potentially boosting their income while reducing expenses tied to hauling goods.

Once fully utilized, the bypass road is expected to directly benefit farmers transporting key crops like rice, corn, and sugarcane. Faster delivery means fresher produce and better chances of reaching bigger markets on time.

In the bigger picture, projects like this aim to bridge the gap between farms and consumers—making sure that what’s grown in the provinces reaches tables faster, cheaper, and more efficiently.
