Manila, Intramuros — The first-ever DPWH Campus Job Fair at Mapúa University in Intramuros, Manila, turned into a lively scene this morning as applicants poured into the event organized by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Organizers said “hundreds” attended the job fair, showing strong interest from young professionals and recent graduates who want to join the agency.

The job fair is part of a nationwide recruitment campaign launched in January 2026, aimed at attracting new talent in engineering, accounting, and other professional roles. The campaign seeks to strengthen the agency’s workforce by bringing in “fresh blood” to help improve service delivery.

During the briefings before the job fair, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said that hiring new engineers, accountants, and other professionals through these job fairs is a way to boost the agency’s manpower and promote more effective public service.
“Join us in this effort,” he added, which became the central call to the young applicants.

The DPWH is not only hiring for technical positions — it is also open to other professionals who want to contribute to the agency. The recruitment campaign is set to travel to various cities and universities across the country, including University of the Philippines, Ateneo, De La Salle, and others.

Many attendees brought their resumes and certificates, hoping for on-the-spot interviews or immediate job opportunities in public service. These job fairs are not just a chance for employment — they also provide a platform for young people to be part of change in one of the largest government agencies.
