A young Filipina who had just begun building her life abroad is among four family members killed in a missile strike in Haifa, according to the Embassy of Israel in the Philippines.
The Israeli Embassy in Manila expressed deep sorrow over the deaths following an attack it attributed to Iran on the evening of April 5, 2026.
The Filipina victim was identified as Lucille Jane Gershovich, 29, who had married her husband, Dmitry Gershovich, in April 2024. The couple were among those killed, along with Dmitry’s parents, Vladimir Gershovich, 73, and Lena Ostrovsky, 68.
The attack claimed two generations of a single family—an incident the embassy described as a “tragic loss of civilian lives” and a stark reminder of the dangers faced by non-combatants.
“Israel stands in profound solidarity with the bereaved family and the Filipino community,” the embassy said, as it joined in mourning the loss of the Filipina victim.
Lucille’s family has requested privacy as they grieve.
The embassy also called for dignity in remembering the victims, honoring their lives amid the growing toll of civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
“May their souls rest in peace,” the statement read.
