Filipino Golfer Miguel Tabuena Makes History With Full-Time LIV Golf Status

Miguel Tabuena has officially secured full‑time status on the 2026 LIV Golf League roster, becoming the first player from the Philippines to earn a spot in the global tour. His achievement follows a steady rise through The International Series, highlighted by his victory at the International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus, which helped him finish third in the season rankings and positioned him for promotion to LIV Golf.
Tabuena will compete throughout the 2026 season as a Wild Card player, beginning with LIV Golf Adelaide at The Grange Golf Club (February 12–15).
Journey From Reserve to Full-Time Player
The 31-year-old initially joined LIV Golf as a reserve player, making his debut with 4Aces GC, captained by two-time major champion Dustin Johnson, at the Riyadh opener in Saudi Arabia, where he tied for 48th. Though he was replaced on the 4Aces lineup for Adelaide by Anthony Kim, this transition led to his historic full-season Wild Card status, enabling him to compete in all LIV Golf events this year.

At LIV Golf Adelaide, Tabuena opened with a promising three-under-par 69, putting him near the top of the leaderboard early. In the second round, he shot a 71, which moved him down to joint 25th place. Despite this, his performance underscores that he can compete alongside some of the sport’s top international talent.
