The Philippines is set to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, from Feb. 6 to 22, 2026, with two alpine skiers representing the country.
Seventeen-year-old Tallulah Proulx, a Filipino-American alpine skier, has secured her spot in both the women’s slalom and giant slalom events. Her qualification marks a historic milestone as the first Filipina ever to qualify for the Winter Olympics and the youngest Filipino athlete to earn an Olympic berth.
Proulx grew up skiing in the United States and met the required International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) point thresholds to qualify for the Games.
She will join Francis Ceccarelli, a 22-year-old Filipino-Italian alpine skier, who qualified in the same events — giant slalom and slalom — for the Philippines. Ceccarelli became the first Filipino alpine skier to earn an Olympic quota spot under the federation’s qualifying system.
Together, Proulx and Ceccarelli are the two competitors on the Philippine team in alpine skiing, the only sport in which the country has entries at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Filipino athletes have participated in past Winter Games, but Proulx’s qualification represents the first time a Filipina has qualified for the Olympics in winter sports.
Sports fans in the Philippines are looking forward to the country’s debut on snow and ice, which could inspire more interest in winter sports among young athletes despite the nation’s tropical climate.
