The first group of Filipinos affected by the rising tensions in the Middle East has safely arrived home.

Malacañang confirmed that the first repatriation flight — Emirates EK336 from Dubai to Manila — landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday.

According to Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez, the flight carried a mix of repatriated Filipinos and other travelers who were affected by the evolving security situation in the region.

Hundreds Welcomed Home

Leading the government’s welcome for the returning passengers was Hans Leo Cacdac, Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers.

A total of 299 passengers, including infants and children, were on board the flight that departed Dubai at around 9:55 p.m. Philippine time.

The returning group included overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), tourists, and other travelers who were temporarily stranded as the security situation in the Middle East continued to develop.

Government Monitoring Situation

Officials earlier assured the public that the government is closely monitoring the situation and has prepared contingency measures to help Filipinos abroad if tensions in the region further escalate.

Authorities also said coordination remains ongoing among relevant government agencies and airline partners to ensure that assistance will be available for nationals who may need help returning to the Philippines.

For many of the passengers who arrived Thursday morning, the flight was more than just a trip home — it was a relief after days of uncertainty abroad.
